According to the results of geological investigations, it was found that part of the design of the street construction must be installed above the extremely weak grounds. The assessment of the current situation, it was decided to support the construction of the street to the strong soils using ground reinforced pole system.
After the installation of ground-reinforced and reinforced concrete poles on their heads, were laid GRK4 class non-woven geotextiles Tipptex BS20W. This geotextile performs separation and filtration functions and prevents the mixing of infusion soil fractions below the weak base fraction. On top of the non-woven geotextile was laid a rigid, pre-tensioned geogrid Secugrid 120/120 Q6, which takes over the soil resulting horizontal forces and evenly distribute to the low ground. Later on, respectively geogrid was installed protective sand / gravel mixture layer, the second geogrid Secugrid 80/80 Q6 layer and designed street constructive.
In addition, the pile of work platforms accomplishment was equipped with a temporary structure using woven geotextile KORTEX GT 100/100.
After the installation of the street embankment over the reinforced geopiles construction was raised ground bearing capacity. Geopiles and geogrids distribution platform combination was an ideal solution for peaty conditions, when the peat layer is about 11m. Roadbed on geopiles construction ensures uniform settlements, which in turn, increases the structure itself lifetime. Groundwater level for ground piles installation has no influence, because the water entering into the pile drains down. Geopiles can also be installed during the winter period.
